A site all eBay users should know about

If you buy or sell on eBay, you should know about this site, as it will save you a lot of grief.

As you probably already know, one of the most important things to do before bidding on eBay is to cast an eye over the Feedback related to the person selling - in other words, the reports from others he has done business with.  If there are too many bits of bad news ("negatives" as they are called" then don't deal with him.

Unfortunately, some dealers have thousands of sales under their belts, and it can take for ever to plough through the list looking for the bad news.

www.toolhaus.org does it for you.  Simply enter the seller's User ID (it's on the page describing what they are selling) and Toolhaus will find them for you.

It can be just as dodgy buying from Amazon as it is EBay. I purchased what should have been a book, but there is also a CD of the same title. The CD was advertised in the book section and that is what I recieved.

Amazon refuse to send me a copy of the page it was advertised on and assure me all was correct.It most certainly was not.

I would suggest buyers, whether it be from EBay or Amazon print a copy of the page on which the goods were advertised.

Amazon are no more trustworthy than anyone else, it would appear.

This is excellent advice! Many is the time I have given up scrolling through pages of feedback to find the negative comments even tho' red stands out rather.

One of the tricky things about buying on eBay is getting your bid in at the last minute before the auction closes.

A friend of mine swears by auctionsniper.com. All you do is tell it the item number and your maximm bid. It will bid for you seconds before the end, up to your maximum.

You pay only if you win, the fee being 1percent (minimum 25c, with a cap $9.95).
