We are in Spain and have bought a chip for the iPad. We have 1GB (for 29 eu). Now we don't know how much this is. Could you tell us what comes first with all this GB / MB and so on.
Also do you know, when you are Skyping, would this be taking a lot of " power " (I don't know the other word).
I'm afraid this is not my area - I'm very bad at international roaming issues.
I can help with the volumes, as follows:
A Kilobyte is 1,024 bytes.
A Megabyte is 1,048,576 bytes or 1,024 Kilobytes
that is roughly:
- 873 pages of plaintext (1,200 characters)
- 4 books (200 pages or 240,000 characters)
A Gigabyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes, 1,024 Megabytes or 1,048,576 Kilobytes; that is roughly:
- 894,784 pages of plaintext (1,200 characters)
- 4,473 books (200 pages or 240,000 characters)
- 341 digital pictures (with 3MB average file size)
- 256 MP3 audio files (with 4MB average file size)
Skype will tend to run your battery down a bit faster than normal browsing, especially if you use the video. 1GB will probably be used up in somewhere between 24 and 36 hours of Skype, I would think.
